Andrew Bogen is a well-rounded and highly credentialed lawyer with close to 40 years of extensive experience in all types of sophisticated transactional matters, with a particular emphasis in the healthcare industry. His experience also covers oversight and management of all critical matters for clients, including litigation and dispute resolution, responding to government investigations, compliance matters, and strategic planning. Mr. Bogen graduated, with distinction, from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia with a BBA in Finance and Marketing in 1978 and then attended the George Washington University National Law Center, where he graduated in 1984 with honors, in the top 10% of his class, and as a member of the George Washington Law Review. In the first 30 years of legal practice, he was a clerk, associate, counsel and partner at a number of top-tier nationally recognized law firms and boutiques, including Hale & Dorr (now part of Wilmer Hale), Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam & Roberts (now part of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP), and Golenbock, Eiseman, Assor, Bell & Peskoe. He then became an important part of a team of healthcare lawyers who started at Blass & Driggs and then collectively moved to Harris Beach, Arent Fox, and finally, Arnold & Porter. Andrew started his career as a corporate generalist and spent most of his time working on corporate finance, bank lending, restructurings and mergers and acquisitions. He also spent several years working under the tutelage of real estate partners and became proficient in commercial leasing and real estate purchases and sales. In 1994, he joined a boutique mergers and acquisitions firm that specialized in healthcare industry transactions. Since then, he has focused approximately 75% of his time working with health care providers of all types including, hospitals and hospital systems, skilled nursing facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, home health and health home companies, multi-specialty and single specialty medical practices, individual physicians, large dental practices and individual dentists, and many other businesses involved in the healthcare arena, including independent practice associations, accountable care organizations, management companies, device manufacturers and suppliers, institutional pharmacies, and consulting and ancillary service companies. The balance of his time is spent working with businesses in a variety of sectors, including hospitality, legal, engineering, financial consulting, telecommunications, internet, fashion, and publishing. He also represents a number of not-for-profit organizations. |
